Course Description

This is a studio and outdoor based course, which will be structured around main points: studio lectures, studio demonstration, individual and group discussion, presentation of the work, studio seminars, comments, critique and suggestion on the work. The course gives further opportunity to refine and extend the skills of photography. The course will examine the various areas of photography generally referred to as advertising photography including fashion, food, small and large products, photo illustration and cover images, packaging, Street life and architectural photographs. This class will push students towards working on greater challenges both technical and aesthetic. As they will advance, their need to identify what tools and technical and aesthetic challenges will be explored to accomplish visual goals.

Aims & Objectives

This course is designed to familiarize the students with the different fundamentals of photography including: camera operations, the physics of light, exposure and metering, film types, processing, photographic printing, photo history, design, composition, manipulation, presentation. The course is designed to familiarize the students with the different techniques of photography including: camera operations, the physics of light, exposure and metering, digital image manipulation, processing, photo adjustment, photo history, design, composition, manipulation, presentation. This course aims at covering all the critical and foundational information about digital photography including using advanced digital photo equipment, different types and sources of light both in the studio and on location, posing techniques and proper use of cosmetics, clothing, etc. The students will be informed about advanced editing, portrait and fashion retouching and other effects, retouching techniques, HDRI, using portable and studio flash with digital photography. The course will extend to include simulating other film and traditional art techniques.

Eligibility Criteria

Intermediate with minimum 2nd division or any equivalent qualification, (Equivalence certificate required from IBCC
for educational qualifications other than intermediate).

Admission Criteria

Admissions will be on open merit basis. An aptitude test will be followed by an interview.

• Total fees for 06 months certificate course in Digital Photography/ Digital Imaging is Rs. 55,500/-
• Course registration fee is Rs. 10,000/-
• Fees will be paid lump sum.
