The symposium titled ππ€π§ π©ππ ππππ€π§π: πΏπ€ππͺπ’ππ£π©ππ£π πππππππ£π ππ£π ππππ§π£ππ£π held at the Shakir Ali Auditorium, National College of Arts, Lahore was a landmark event, centered around the need to generate discourse on critical documentation practices in regional art and design academia. Serving as the inaugural event of the year 2025 with reference to the NCA's 150th anniversary celebrations, the Symposium marked the beginning of a year-long tribute to NCA’s rich legacy as the premier institution of art and design in Pakistan, and one of the oldest art institutions of South Asia.
The Symposium was followed by the launch of the Journal of Art and Design Education Pakistan, π
πΌπΏππ, the seminal blind peer-reviewed art and design education journal in the region, dedicated to furthering critical discourse, innovative research, and intellectual exploration in the fields of art and design education, regionally and globally. π
πΌπΏππ stands as a testament to Vice Chancellor NCA, Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri’s unwavering commitment to advancing an array of contemporary educational practices concerning art education at the NCA and representing Pakistan’s art and design education scene globally.
Bringing together renowned artists, designers, art and design educators, researchers, and art historians from across Pakistan, the symposium featured a thought-provoking panel discussion and highly engaging Q & A session afterwards.
