The NCA Triennale hosted the First International Conference on Art & Architecture (THiAA) on 25th November 2025, bringing together scholars and practitioners for a day of presentations on contemporary directions in art, architecture, and cultural studies.
The three sessions; moderated by Ali Arshad, Huda Abid, and Fatima Tahira, opened with a welcome address by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, followed by Dr. Hafsa Imtiaz, Ar. Saifullah Siddiqui, Dr. Abdul Rehman, Prof. Sajjad Kausar, Ar. Sarah K. Cheema, and Ghania Shams Khan, who discussed themes of Islamic architectural unity, urban identity, time, and conceptual drawing.
The second session featured Dr. Suneela Ahmed, Munem Shahriar Islam Shamonto & Salma Sadia, Prof. Dr. Faisal Sajjad, and Dr. Muhammad Yaseen & Faisal Rehman, with presentations on cultural memory, sustainability, pedagogy, and digital representations of Pakistani landscapes.
The final session included Dr. Farah Khan, Khawar Saleem & Thyra Holst, Dr. Asna Mubashra, and Muhammad Ashraf, who explored contemporary art, textile and architectural intersections, and civilizational heritage.
The day concluded with a panel discussion featuring Mr. Fakir Ajjazudin, Dr. Naveed A. Malik, Dr. Nadhra Khan, and Mr. Marco Pisano, followed by the distribution of souvenirs and certificates to all presenters and participants.
