Artist Talk – Omar Nagati

The NCA Triennale hosted an insightful artist talk featuring Omar Nagati, architect, urban planner, and Co founder of CLUSTER, Cairo’s leading platform for urban design and research. With over 25 years of experience, Nagati has long been recognised for his influential work on informal urbanism and his contributions to reshaping contemporary understandings of how cities function.

During the session, he shared grounded, practice based insights drawn from his work in Cairo and Lahore, offering a nuanced perspective on how cities grow, adapt, and envision their futures. Through the frameworks of critical mapping and tactical urban interventions, he unpacked the intricate layers of urban life, highlighting the everyday negotiations and spatial dynamics that shape neighbourhood.

His talk enriched ongoing conversations across the fields of design, planning, and community led urbanism, contributing valuable reflections to students, faculty, and practitioners.
