Artist Talk - Vidura Rodrigo

We are delighted to host pianist and composer Vidura Rodrigo for an insightful artist talk at the Triennale. Steeped in Baroque, Romantic, and contemporary minimalist influences, Vidura shared the evolution of his musical language; one shaped by delicacy, poetry, and a subtle, lingering melancholia.

During the session, he spoke about the themes that anchor his original compositions, including memory, minimalism, and imagined folklores, and how these ideas unfold through his collaborations with dancers, poets, visual artists, and practitioners of ethnomusic traditions.

Drawing from his performances at Alliance Française de Colombo, De Saram House, and other experimental spaces, Vidura reflected on the ways music can transform environments into intimate, immersive encounters.

His talk offered a thoughtful exploration of artistic process, cross cultural dialogue, and the quiet power of sound as storytelling, adding depth and dimension to the Triennale’s ongoing conversations.
