Kasb-e-Khudi-Sculpting Self by Maisam Hussain

Hosted by the National College of Arts Triennale, Kasb-e-Khudi: Sculpting the Self through the Hands is a figurative sculpture workshop led by artist Maisam Hussain, organised by Uzma Siddique. This intensive two week programme invites participants to explore self portraiture as a dialogue between craft, identity, and introspection.

Rooted in classical clay modeling traditions, the workshop reclaims sculpture as a meditative and autobiographical act, where the hand becomes both a tool and a vessel for memory, resilience, and self-representation. Participants will engage in a process that connects physical making with emotional and intellectual reflection, fostering a deeper understanding of the “self” in an increasingly hyper digital world.

Through this immersive experience, Kasb-e-Khudi celebrates the art of sculpting as both a personal and collective journey of self discovery and creative expression.
