Workshop – Atiab Rahman & Varisha Asim 'Research as method, practice, exhibit.'

Led by Atiab Rehman and Varisha Asim at the Tollinton Block, the workshop ‘Research as Method, Practice, Exhibit’ reimagines research not merely as a method, but as a dynamic, creative process; a space where curiosity, collaboration, and cultural consciousness converge.

Over the course of the workshop, participants engaged with diverse research methodologies, ranging from fieldwork and interviews to archival and experimental explorations. They were encouraged to develop micro projects that translate observations, ideas, and lived experiences into tangible creative outputs.

The workshop emphasised the intersection of art and inquiry, inviting artists, writers, and students to challenge conventional boundaries and experiment with research as a tool for storytelling, reflection, and cultural documentation. Participants left with not just new techniques, but also a deeper appreciation of how research can inform, inspire, and transform creative practice.
