The NCA Triennale 2025 is all about reliving the long lost traditions. This ‘Kite Making’ workshop brought to life the age old craft of handcrafted kites under the expert guidance of master artisans Ustad Saleem and Ustad Javaid. Participants journeyed through each stage of the traditional kite making process, from preparing fine bamboo for framing and cutting delicate paper to shaping the form and balancing the final decorative details.
More than a technical exercise, the workshop revealed the subtle harmony between design and aerodynamics that transforms a simple structure into a soaring masterpiece. Each participant experienced the quiet precision, creativity, and cultural wisdom embedded in this craft.
Through hands on making, the workshop invited everyone to rediscover the joy of creation, the freedom of open skies, and the vibrant spirit of community festivals where kites have long symbolised celebration and connection in Lahore’s skies.
