The National College of Arts welcomed renowned actor and filmmaker Nandita Das as part of the ThinkFest on Campus series. Invited by Prof. Dr. Iram Zia Raja, Dean of Design; Das engaged in a compelling conversation with writer Bee Gul on "The Female Gaze—A Personal Perspective."
During the wide ranging discussion, Das spoke candidly about navigating a male dominated industry, the struggles associated with skin colour, and the importance of staying true to one’s artistic voice beyond the pursuit of fame or fortune.
As a token of appreciation, Prof. Dr. Iram Zia Raja presented Das with a specially designed scarf, created in collaboration with Zeb Bilal featuring a 19th-century Lunghi pattern from Rawalpindi, crafted exclusively for ThinkFest guests. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, expressed gratitude for her visit and presented her with a memento in recognition of her contributions to cinema and social discourse.
