As part of the ongoing 150 year celebrations of the National College of Arts, a vibrant jazz concert lit up the campus on April 30th, 2025, in honour of International Jazz Day. The evening brought together students, faculty, and music enthusiasts for a soulful celebration of rhythm, creativity, and collaboration. Headlining the event was Working Class Heroes, an emerging jazz trio from Lahore, whose dynamic performance captured the spirit of contemporary jazz with a local flair.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri was also present on the occasion, lending his support to the students and applauding their talent and dedication. The concert featured a special showcase by students from the Department of Music, who performed selected jazz standards alongside their own original compositions. With impressive skill and heartfelt improvisation, the students paid tribute to the rich global legacy of jazz while adding their unique voices to its evolving narrative. The evening not only highlighted the musical excellence at NCA but also reflected the institution’s continued commitment to cultural celebration, innovation, and the nurturing of creative expression across generations.
