The timeless tradition of Dastangoi came alive at the National College of Arts as students gathered for Dastangoi; The Lost Art of Urdu Storytelling. Written and performed by Badar Khan, the performance captivated the audience with its rich narrative style, expressive delivery, and revival of a centuries old oral tradition.
Held at the Shakir Ali Auditorium, the dastangoi offered a glimpse into the magic of classical Urdu storytelling, where voice, expression, and imagination take center stage. Students experienced the depth and rhythm of dastan, reconnecting with a cultural form that once thrived in the subcontinent.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, was also present on the occasion, appreciating the effort to reintroduce and sustain such important cultural practices within the academic environment. The evening served as a meaningful reminder of the power of storytelling and its enduring place in our artistic and literary heritage.
