Mushaira ‘Nawai Sarosh’, an unforgettable evening brought together some of the most celebrated names in Urdu poetry, with Respected Iftikhar Arif presiding over the event, on Wednesday evening. The auditorium resonated with the profound verses of esteemed poets; including Asghar Nadeem Syed, Abbas Tabish, Hameeda Shaheen, Wajid Ameer, Anjum Saleemi, Adnan Baig, Shakeel Jazib, Umair Najmi, Ammar Iqbal, Saima Aftab, Rahman Faris, Hammad Niazi, and Uzma Sehar, who captivated the audience with their powerful and heartfelt recitations. Additionally, our students Syed Saddam Murad Gillani, Ansab Shoaib, Saad Khan and Sayeda Mehreen, as well as our alumni Ujala and Reza Jafri recited.
The Mushaira, organised by the Sukhan Literary Society, was a celebration of the timeless beauty of Urdu literature and NCA’s enduring commitment of transferring creativity and artistic expression to the younger lot. The mushaira attracted poetry lovers and literary enthusiasts from all over the college, who were deeply moved by the poignant verses.
This gathering was also part of the NCA’s ongoing celebrations leading up to its 150 years of excellence in 2025, commemorating its legacy since its inception as the Mayo School of Arts in 1875.
