The theme of the Exhibition on Palestine will be paying tribute and showing solidarity to the resilient Palestinians. Importance needs to be given to the sensitivity, humanity and dignity of the people of Palestine. Often exhibitions on this topic follow a very colonial lens; showing the east as rubble, poverty and tragedy. This exhibition is envisaged to be from a decolonising perspective. The damage and detriment will be visible, but so will the dreams of returning home, the hope of meeting loved ones and the prayers for peace.
As we gather to remember Palestine and the resilience of its people this November, we invite a range of artworks from Pakistan and beyond. This exhibition is a tribute to their dreams of returning home, their hope of meeting loved ones, and their prayers for peace; with an emphasis on reclaiming and portraying Palestinian dignity in spaces of display.
