The Fashion Design undergraduate program is allied to tailor student’s unique creative impulse to create fashion with a focus on South Asian Design and Costume heritage.  It envisions fostering their abilities to become culturally and traditionally aware competitive fashion designers who can contribute to the growth and sustainability of fashion industry. The focus on South Asian craftsmanship and costumes will inspire students to create fashion that resonates globally, merging historical richness with modern sensibilities.

By nurturing individual creativity and critical thinking, we prepare our students to become visionary designers who contribute to the evolving landscape of fashion.

The courses introduce students to exemplary traditional apparel styles, contemporary design tools, fabrication methods and garment construction techniques essential for developing cohesive design solutions. The curriculum integrates tailoring, styling, history, sociology, cultural studies, design research, drawing, pattern, sewing, draping and interdisciplinary courses to empower students to see their craft for a more meaningful participation in the future of apparel industry and costume designing. In addition, emphasizing South Asian craftsmanship and costumes, the program inspires students to create fashion that combines historical depth with contemporary sensibilities, resonating on a global scale.

The program exposes students to the latest trendsetting work through seminars, discussions, internships, field visits and lectures, offering them opportunities to make valuable career connections. • To prepare fashion design graduates who can innovate and creatively design attires. 
• To equip students with the skills to research, analyze market trends, and produce commercially viable products tailored to user needs.
• To nurture fashion graduates who are critical thinkers and socially conscious, capable of making responsible contributions to the fashion, clothing, and costume industry both nationally and globally.
• To introduce Eastern wear and Asian clothing in the curriculum of fashion studies to bridge the gap on value addition and contextual reference.  
• To produce socially and ethically aware fashion designers who understand the current needs of sustainability, responsibility, and innovation.
