The National College of Arts had the honour of welcoming H.E. Khazar Farhadov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan. The distinguished guest was warmly received by Mrs & Prof Dr Murtaza Jafri, Vice Chancellor NCA; along with Dean Faculty of Architecture, Prof Dr Faisal Sajjad; and former Head of Architecture Department, Syed Maqsood Pasha.
During the visit, the Ambassador toured the historic Tollinton Block, where he was introduced to NCA's rich artistic legacy and vibrant creative environment. He observed skilled artisans demonstrating traditional crafts, including live weaving on handlooms and the meticulous process of jewellery making, appreciating the institution's commitment to preserving Pakistan's cultural heritage through craftsmanship and education.
He also visited the Graduate Block, currently under construction, where he was acquainted with NCA's ongoing infrastructure development and future expansion plans aimed at enhancing academic and research facilities for students and faculty.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the National College of Arts' dedication to artistic excellence while strengthening cultural and educational ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. Discussions also explored the potential for future collaboration in the fields of art, design, and cultural exchange; reaffirming NCA's commitment to fostering meaningful international partnerships.
