The National College of Arts (NCA) recently observed world recycling day by hosting ECO-ECHOES, a creative art competition and exhibition. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of reusing waste materials to protect the environment and also educating the masses to take radical steps to protect our environment.
Supported by Terylene Clean, the competition challenged NCA students to find creative ways to redesign used plastic bottles and give them a new dimension. The resulting artworks were exhibited at the Tollinton Block NCA, attracting a large number of art enthusiasts, NCA faculty and students.
While sharing his thoughts, Vice-Chancellor NCA Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri emphasized the role of responsible waste management in protecting the environment. He added that, "The artworks prepared by the students on the occasion of World Recycling Day make us realize that we have to take drastic measures to protect the environment around us and also should act like responsible citizens of this countryā€¯.
At the end of the event, the students were awarded prizes to motivate them further. The competition and exhibition were a great success, showcasing the creativity and talent of NCA students while also promoting an important message about environmental sustainability.
